Founding Edition: The First Sunday at Bloomies
.
There are some days you dream about for a long time before they finally arrive.
Today was one of those days.
Sunday at Bloomies began with a simple hope. We wanted Bloomies to become more than just a flower shop. We wanted it to be a place where people could slow down, learn something new, meet kind strangers, and leave with something they created with their own hands.
On 26 July 2026, that little idea became real.
Our Founding Edition welcomed eight participants for an afternoon of flowers, coffee, conversations, and creativity.
Guided by Puan Intan of Floristo Shah Alam, everyone learned the spiral technique before creating their own floral arrangements using a seasonal selection of roses, eustoma, gerberas, scabiosa, chrysanthemums, and more.
Although everyone began with the same flowers, every arrangement found its own character. That may have been our favourite part of the afternoon.
Before our guests arrived, every seat was prepared with a personalised place card, a floral journal, fresh flowers, and a simple afternoon tea.
We hoped these small touches would make everyone feel not like attendees, but welcomed guests.
Between flower stems and laughter, we paused for coffee from our neighbours at Ichi Coffee, freshly baked banana bread, Victoria sandwich cake, and a plate of homestyle mihun goreng.
Some of the best conversations happened during those little breaks.
This afternoon would not have been possible without Kak Intan of Floristo Shah Alam, who generously guided our very first workshop with patience and warmth.
Thank you also to Abang Hanif for quietly capturing the moments we'll treasure for years to come.
Most of all, thank you to our eight participants for believing in Sunday at Bloomies before it had a chance to grow.
You will always be our Founding Edition.
Every Sunday at Bloomies will be different, but we hope they all carry the same feeling.
Flowers.
Good company.
A slower afternoon.
We can't wait to welcome you again.
